I tried on Friday, but it was really really bad. Felt like I couldn't breath at all, pressure on my chest and everything. Am resolved now to wait with running until the worst plant pollen time is over for me - with no rain and that much stuff in the air I can practically feel my meds fail. :(
I had a wonderful run in my hometown forest on Saturday, in beautiful warm sunny weather - running 5,4 km in one stretch for the first time this year, and in 33:08 mins, which I'm immensely pleased with \o/
I run on concrete in Copenhagen, and it's so hard on my knees - the Saturday run again reminded/made it clear for me that I need to be better about biking the 2 km to the place where I can run on gravel paths instead!
I've been doing less running and more working out in the gym, lately. This weekend, however, We were on a trip to a beach town we love, and there's a gorgeous creekside trail to run on. I ran 6k on Friday evening, 7k on Saturday afternoon, and 5k Sunday morning. My times weren't good, because the bird-watching was so incredible. I kept having to stop to watch things like the Osprey diving for fish, the Great Blue Heron feeding chicks in the nest, the Wilson's Warbler singing its little bright-yellow heart out. All in all, a great weekend for running, despite the light drizzle that dampened the trail.
Yep - been running outside again since the end of last month. Averaging about 15k a week at the moment, hoping to up that as the weather gets better and I get fitter!
Unfortunately I am injured and had to cancel my planned marathon (this weekend). The last two weeks I have not run at all, and today I finally got in to see a podiatrist who diagnosed probable stress fracture, so I am on crutches for at least 3 weeks.
Runs this week totaled just under 2 miles with a nice 6 mile on Tuesday, a 4 mile tempo run on Thursday morning, a 2 mile tempo run Thursday night after a 15 mile bike ride up a mountain and another brick on Sunday with 5.5 miles after a 20 mile or so ride :-)
