Last week started out well, then work got in the way and I failed completely to run in the latter 1/2. Ran mon (3.5 miles), wed (6.6 miles), biked mon, tues, thurs, martial arts wed, fri, sat, sun. Have to remember that cross-training is still training, even if it's not running...
Hey, should we try daily threads like LJ runners? (I've been irregularly active over there for a while and didn't even know this one existed until yesterday)
I like the daily threads on runners, but I am wondering whether we would need a bigger audience to have such a thing here? Let's see whether a few other people chime in!
I am injured and grouchy. I have a half marathon on Saturday and am forcing myself not to run this week so my right ankle (it's a peroneal muscle or tendon strain, something in that area) will heal up in time. Naturally the weather is beautiful. Phooey.
Thank you for asking! I've been slowly increasing my weekly mileage and had meant to do 12 miles last week, but I only managed 11.5. This was 4.5 on Sunday, 3 on Tuesday, 2 on Thursday, and 2 on Friday. I feel okay about this. (I feel awesome about the Sunday run, and not too torn up about the rest.)
My plan this week is to run 12.5 spread out between four days. I got a good start with 3.75 yesterday. It's my spring break so I'll have lots of time this week, and the weather's nice so I'll get to do it outside.
I was sick for two weeks and there was no running until yesterday, when we did our shortest flattest 3 miles in the woods. And it was slow and painful but we did run.
I've been trying to figure out whether I actually have plantar fasciitis in my left foot so last week I took it pretty easy and did a lot of stretches that I found on the internet. They're definitely helping a lot and so far some short two-mile runs that I did last week haven't been too painful! I have a 4 mile race coming up not this upcoming Sunday but the following, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to get my mileage back up in time. My achilles has been really sore in my right leg too so I've been stretching that out. Basically my body hates that I've been trying to train for this race after some inactivity :)
Just finished Week 5 of half-marathon training. Walked 3 miles Monday, ran 4 miles Tuesday, 4 miles Wednesday, biked 12 miles Saturday, ran 5.87 miles yesterday. (It was supposed to be 6 but it turned out my GPS was wrong. Hrmph.)
This week is a relatively easy week culminating in a 5K on Saturday.
Oh, and since I have some extra time this week I intend to get in some crosstraining that I haven't had/made time for in the last few months: some biking, some walking, and hopefully some strength stuff, though I have trouble getting motivated to do that when I can't go to a class.

I attended a running clinic on Saturday as well and now I find myself checking out all the joggers' strides.
