How goes it?

I ran three days last week! (Not very much on any day, but, I'm running again!)

Today I ran 45 minutes. I'm still kind of slow, in order to keep my HR low, but I feel okay. My foot doesn't hurt at the stress fracture site, but the REST of my foot hurts afterward(!) as do my hamstrings, sigh.

Aw, it's tough to come back after being sick. But your 5K wasn't a Personal Worst, so you're doing okay!

Good luck on the 10K. I also find them tough.

Yay runners com :-)

I've been rather more sporadic with posting than with exercise this summer, but still not as consistent as I could have been with that either.

First 1/2 Ironman was in June, then an olympic distance 2 weekends ago.

Training has started in earnest for the Frankfurt Marathon at the end of October. Last week I had my first 30 mile week in ages. Now assuming I manage to follow a plan and not get too caught up in work/school/life, I will hopefully have a nice race.

Have a great race! I actually think I like 10k but that's because one of my favorite loop runs is almost exactly 10k so I tend to practice it a lot. That being said, I'm not sure I've ever run one officially except at the end of a triathlon...

Haven't run much all summer, but I did about a mile on Friday and a just under 2 miles on Saturday. I've just moved to a new city and am hoping running can be one way of meeting some new people. Will try to get in another short run tomorrow morning.

Woot! How did you do in the tris? Did you meet your goals?

Will Frankfurt be your first marathon?

I found that running was a great way to explore when I moved to a new town.

will do :-)

It's not nearly as bad as it sounds, but then when I look forward to training for a *marathon* because it means I get to cut back the training time, then it's probably time to admit I have a Problem...

I did relatively well on both, met most of my goals (for the 1/2 Ironman - I finished, did not panic on the swim and had a good bike. for the Oly - I panicked again on the swim :-( but had an amazing ride and a decent run :-)

This will be my second marathon, I'm jumping into one of Hal Higdon's intermediate plans at week 12 since I already had condition from the tri training, just not too running specific. I'm modifying to include 1 day a week of tempo/speedwork to keep it interesting and using swimming as my cross-training. The second one is harder than the first, isn't it?

Hi! I am still fairly new to running and very new to the comm, but am interested and excited to follow along.

As far as a check-in goes, I have finally crossed over the point where I can regularly run a 5k distance! Next goal: increase pace.

*sigh* I do wish I would go! My summer has been full of broken feet and woe. Foot is all better, but then I did something to my knee running down a flight of stairs so I'm a bit leery of pushing my running. That said! I've got a tri in 4 weeks and a half marathon in November, so I swear to god there's going to be some serious running soon.

It's a little better. But I can't contemplate running any kind of race any time soon.
