"Our running shoes are really erasers. Every step erases a memory of a past failure. Every mile brings us closer to a clean slate. Each footstrike rubs away a word, a look, or an event that led us to believe that success was beyond our grasp." ~John Bingham
So, how was your week of running? If you're on the east coast of the US, how are you dealing with the heat? If you're in the southern hemisphere, how is the winter treating you? What are you planning for the week ahead?

I ran four times last week, with a long run of 10 miles and a total of 28, both post-injury highs for me. This week I expect to run only 18 miles or so as I'm headed out of town on Friday morning for a week of rafting. A running friend from the other side of the state will be here on Wednesday, and I'm looking forward to doing a trail run with her to show her the awesome places I have to run!

I did the first run of the week this morning, anyway. It wasn't hard at all. It's quite warm in the UK, but I run on our elliptical in the garage at the moment, so it was nice and cool in there.

(although I think running in the matching outfit would be challenging!)

I'm going back to my old city this weekend for work, and I'm planning on running some of my old runs again...

Had a nice swim and a great run on Sunday, though. Got up even earlier, was outside running around 06.20h. Went well, despite it being unpleasantly warm even at this hour. I managed to increase my speed and reduced my walking time even more.
Bonus - meeting a pretty black cat who wanted a belly rub on my last stretching break. *g*

In an effort to avoid the football (and good thing too since my country's team lost and the fans would have been v. grumpy), I went on a long evening run on Wednesday. A very long one.
21K and a bit, in fact. A half-marathon, and over 7K more than my previous distance record. I was sore the day after, and one of my toenails has gone purple (thankfully without pain), but
