Tuesday is the new Monday - weekly check in

So runners, how was your week? Tell us what was the hardest thing for you this week and/or the most rewarding...

Random quote of the day -

Running long and hard is an ideal antidepressant, since it's hard to run and feel sorry for yourself at the same time. Also, there are those hours of clearheadedness that follow a long run.

I ran Fri/Sat/Sun, 4 miles/5 miles/4 miles. Ridiculously slow: 13-minute miles, I think. But hey, I'm getting my mileage back up. Now I just have to keep it up again.

I would love to see some links to inspirational quotes here, actually. Many years ago I had a photocopy of a page of running quotes from Running magazine, including things like "The step out the door is the hardest part of the run" and "You're running enough if your mother thinks you need to eat more" (which thinking back on it may not be that healthy, but).

I would love to have something like that around for the days when I just don't wanna.

I have a bunch somewhere. Probably my favorite these days is from Steve Prefontaine: "If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail."

Tangent: Going to put my shoes on is the hardest part - once I'm up and moving in the direction of my shoes, then I'm fine - but the moment before that, trying to make myself get up, that is my hardest part.
