March not-check-in

Hi Runners!

Hope you're having a great March so far! Mine sucks. I've lost my will to run. No I have no idea why. I've never been this unmotivated for marathon training since I started six years ago!

So tell me something good about your running today, why you do it, why you like it, whatever makes you happy when you run.*

* or just feel free to complain (about the weather, about how your favorite shoes have been discontinued, anything you want)

I hope your misery loves company, because... yeah, I'm not having the joy of running here, either. Which feels stoopid and horrible, because the weather is GORGEOUS, spring is sprung, there's nothing wrong with my body (besides the aspect of declining in cardio-shape from not running), my shoes fit and aren't worn out, and I have the time and energy to be running...

I just don't wanna.

I'm doing a bunch of core exercising and something my niece suggested called a "thigh slimming challenge" (HA!! It's bulked up both of our thighs really nicely, just like I told her it would.) And the furniture sanding project is making any upper body work... superfluous.

But I'm not running.

I figure it's a phase, and I'll grow out of it. Being unmotivated just happens sometimes, and for me, it often means that I just need to let go and do something else that I *am* motivated to do. My advice to you: follow your bliss. Even if it means you're not in great shape for the next marathon. You can always blow it off on the Day-of-Race, if it's just your own race, and if it's the relay? I have it on good authority that your teammates are VERY understanding, and are there for the teamness much more than the racing. We can be Team Runs-Not-So-Much! :-)
