35 miles for last week and 12 hours aikido. I'm already behind this week as I made a command decision to skip today's long run in favor of blanket forting.
In aikido news, I was at a seminar today where three different senseis (including mine) each got 45 minutes to show the group some of their favorite stuff. It was a nice group, most of whom I didn't know, except for my sensei and the other 3 people from my dojo. What was cool is that I actually got called up as uke (person who does the attack and subsequently does the falling/rolling) by each of the 3 instructors for an uke trifecta :-) While not a huge deal, this hopefully means that people like my aikido enough to feel comfortable chucking me around, even if they don't know me. I had fun :-)
In running news, I cannot wait for this training cycle to be over and it's barely started. Usually, I really like running but this time around it's hard to motivate, feels like a slog and I'm always tired with sore muscles. The weather is pretty consistently just around freezing and it rains a lot lately which might be contributing. Anyway, I want to like running again and I'm hopeful that spring helps :-)
Blanket forting FTW!!!! <3! And yay for Aikido being a bright spot.
It's ok if the doldrums between Groundhog Day and the Spring Equinox are a lull in your training. In the grand scheme of things, it's ok. Just keep your body moving, often enough to keep your mind happy. Spring will help!
