In the past 7 days I finished week 2 of the Couch-to-5k program and did the first day of week 3. Which means I can now run for three minutes without walking. Whee!
Last week went really well for me. I ran four days, two of them outside, for a total of 11.5 miles, which was exactly my goal. That was up a mile from the week before, and I'm planning on adding another mile this week. Am well on the way already because today I did a longer run, 5.5 miles, which is the longest I've done in a while and felt really great.
I hope to participate in a 4.5K race on May 4. My goal is to run the whole time, and complete in 30 mins. To that end, I hope to get myself out to run at the very least twice a week, hopefully three times.
It's a women's race - I think it's deliberately short to make sure too many aren't intimidated by it. I also think it's not 5K, because it's a small town, and they saw that "these paths add up to 4.5K, which is probably the closest thing we'll get to a round number - we'll take it!". At the end of May there's a 5.5K/10K race, so it seems hitting 5K is just too hard in our forest :o)
Aw, thanks so much for the good wishes. I need to write up my race report, and when I do I'll link it here. I missed my goal but did get a PR, so I can't complain.

I ran 5 miles each on Tuesday and Thursday, and 9 miles on Saturday. I am running a half-marathon in 12 days (yikes!)
