Gah, I got zero running done this week. Lots of cold & rain, and I'm a wimp about cold I've got cold-triggered asthma. Elderly relative in the hospital, stress & crazy-busy. Still, it would have helped my stress levels if I had been running.
Saturday was Big Bunny Fun Run, which I was supposed to run with my 12 year old daughter. She came down sick (like, really sick, fever, coughing, etc) on Friday evening and was too ill to run. And she asked me not to run, too, and stay home with her and commiserate, which I was glad to do.
What made me happy? Knowing it's spring and the weather will warm and I will have a chance to run again. Also, my kid wants to reschedule our 5K run for when she's feeling well, and she wants to get to wear her race t-shirt, after she has done so. But no sooner. :-)
You have a great kid, I hope she feels better soon! Let me know when you do your 5 k and I'll do it virtually with you guys :-)
I'm forcing myself to bike or run every day (but yesterday where the napping prevailed) to reduce my stress levels, but it's hard to make myself do it all the time.
here's a good quote for today: Winning has nothing to do with racing. Most days don't have races anyway. Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up. -Amby Burfoot, The Runner's Guide to the Meaning of Life
