check in!

How goes it, runners?

I am recovering from my marathon and feeling pretty good. So far the weather has been pretty good for running, but it's supposed to snow next week. What about you?

Well, I managed my first bit of running the other day, after two months of trying to sort my lungs out post-pneumonia, so I'm counting that as going well for me! Glad the marathon recovery is going well. :)

Don't worry - I'm so knocked out (or my lungs are) from the pneumonia, it'd be pretty hard to do too much!

Ack, pneumonia :o/ ! Good luck with getting back into the swing - as [personal profile] ilanarama says, don't push yourself too fast.

Cheers! It's been a frustrating couple of months, but I seem to be finally getting somewhere.

I got up early three times last week to go running/walking - short run-walks, but still \o/

Well, I was thinking I'd be running, not alternating, but my extended colds always set me back. But getting out at all is the hard part - even if I alternate running/walking, it's way better than not getting out at all, *positive thinking*.

I am contemplating a triathlon! (Because I am insane, obviously.) If I decide to do it, this means I'm going to have to start running further than 2-3 miles at a time, damn it. Erugh.

I right where you were--the cycling is definitely my most familiar and comfortable portion of the race. The one I'm thinking of is the DC triathlon, which just opened its registration today. It's 11 months out, which I think is enough time for training. I wouldn't break any records, but I think I could be good enough to complete it in the allotted time limits. It sounds like a lot of fun and as far as courses go it's not hard. At least the cycling and the running parts aren't; I've never tried to swim the Potomac. *wibbles at the sign up form*

I've signed up! *tries to remember to breathe* Oooh, I just remembered that training means I get to play with spreadsheets...
