Good luck in your half marathon! I also suffer from calf pain and can recommend 1) stretching by standing on steps and alternately going on your toes and letting your heels drop below the step, 2) writing the alphabet with your feet when you are just sitting around (like, at the computer :-) and 3) icing.

I have looked at the Boston qualification standards and would have to be much, much older or much, much faster to ever get near them - go you!
