Shin Splints
Hi everyone,
Your thoughts on posterior shin splints and how to get rid of them? I made the mistake of overdoing it on hills along with increasing my distance and frequency, resulting in a pair of seriously displeased calf muscles. I took a few days off, did some light stretching and felt pretty good. My last two runs have been ok, but this morning's run was pretty awful. The soreness has moved away from the shin area and into the inner/side part of my calves. I think one of my biggest mistakes is failing to warm up properly in the morning. Most times, I just start out with a slow jog, which seems to work on afternoon/evening runs. In the AM, however, I go straight from bed to street, which means my muscles are still pretty tight/asleep.
Have you had any experience with shin splints?

I have a run planned for tomorrow morning before work. I think I'll try your method of "out of bed, on the road." I'll let you know how I feel!
