Who is running a race this weekend?

I realize this may be a tad late for non-US runners, but I'll try to remember to do this earlier next time.

I thought it might be fun for us to have a weekly post to list when and where we're racing so we can send good vibes to each other! (If it's not cool, that's fine.)

I'm running my first 5K on Sunday at 10am! The WTC Run to Remember in NYC. It's on Governor's Island, which is flat, so I signed up kind of on a whim to test myself outside on a flat course. I'm a little nervous since I'm such a relative newbie to running - I just broke 40 minutes for a 5K on my run at the gym today. I don't want to let myself get pushed TOO fast by the crowd and then flame out, but I don't want to hold back and wish I'd pushed more. I'm hoping I can just control the nerves and adrenaline and run within myself for the race, and be willing to walk when/if I need.

I'm doing my first triathlon this Sunday... not concerned about the running at all since it's 'only' 5K, and I know I can do 5K even on a bad day. Also kind of looking forward to zooming along a closed road on a fast bike that I've only had for less than a week. And the lake that the swimming happens in is at least one that I'm famiiar with too, even though I'm usually to be found in the nude section of its beach. ;)

But: clothing! All this clothings and logistics! And getting to the bloody lake on Sunday morning without a bicycle because it'll already be staged there overnight! And no buses running that early on a Sunday morning! Aaargh, the planning! XD

Seriously, though: all the best for your race - and you'll be surprised at how fast you'll be!
