August challenge

Unless someone has claimed captaincy elsewhere, I'll go ahead and do August for those interested in participating.

Please post mileage (miles or km) and/or active hours in the comments below, and also feel free to share how July's been for you :)

Goals for August: 155 miles, 6 active hours.

I'm traveling for a few weeks this month, which might make this goal a bit ambitious. But I want to stick to it if possible since I am doing a 25K trail race in September, the longest race I will have run.

July was a great month for running - good weather and a flexible schedule made it easy to fit in 5 runs every week!

Thanks for organizing an August challenge!

Let's go with a goal of 75km for August. And 10 active hours.

We shall not talk about July which contained too much work and traveling to have any useful mileage or activity count.

I'm interested, but I'm trying to be realistic, too. So I'm going for 20 km in August.

I'm going for 25 miles and 10 hours of active time.

July started with two weeks of summer camp where no running actually happened, but I recovered from that surprisingly well. (I also had a pair of running shoes utterly destroyed. The blisters from the one run where I didn't realize that are still healing, although at least they don't hurt any more.) And I managed 5K with walking breaks on a training run. In general, other than the shoes, July went really well for its limitations.

Yay! July was pretty good, running wise. I'm slowly training for a half marathon and am up to 15 miles/week this week, plus bodyweight training twice a week.

Goal for August:

70 miles
14 active hours (half of which will be accomplished on a couple of hikes in the mountains)

I have spent a lot of July feeling guilty for not finishing off the June challenge with the big picture post I wanted to make to wrap things up. Also, not running.

But! *flexes* Tomorrow I start work again and both children will be in nursery during the day, so I WILL BE RUNNING. Will keep my goals as they were: 20 km running and 25 active hours. I've been hitting the active hours but not the running. :/

Thank you. August has had one run in it and another planned for tomorrow. So it's going better than June and July already!
