September challenge outcome

Several of us had a really tough time in September. In spite of that, with help from our supernumerary [personal profile] linaelyn, we just about cleared our target of 1226 km, in fact making 1279 km, or exactly 800 miles, or 104% of our goal. That takes us most of the way round the isle of Anglesey and almost to the north coast of Wales. We ended up just past Llanddona on Red Wharf Bay:

'A Midnight Coastline' - Llanddona Quarry

Over the last part of the month, we ran all the way round Cardigan bay, passing through Cardigan and Aberystwyth and many other very pretty towns, enjoying the views over the Irish sea. Then northwards and upwards into Snowdownia and the Llŷn Peninsula, some of which is pretty remote, with the sea to the west and mountains to the east. Across the Menai strait to Angelsey, rounding Holyhead at the northwestern tip.

We also put in 123 active hours between us. Assuming that one hour of activity is enough to power the ferry to travel one mile, that allowed us to travel from the Welsh port of Fishguard to the Irish port of Rosslare and back again. Pretty much dead on, in fact, so well done getting the numbers so perfect!

Numbers:
[personal profile] ell: 86 miles (54% of goal) and 40 active hours (200% of goal)
