Welsh coast challenge week 2 results
In the second week of our challenge, we covered 276 km of the Welsh coast, bringing our total distance to 486 km. So we have reached Milford Haven, which is mainly famous for its oil refinery, but it's a remarkably attractive oil refinery:

Continuing from Caswell Bay, we completed our circuit of the gorgeous Gower peninsula, sneaking carefully past the dragon at Worm's Head. Then into Carmarthenshire, which is all about the castles overlooking marshes and dunes. We passed Llanelli and Carmarthen, both towns providing river crossings set quite a way upriver, since we can't run across huge great estuaries. We're now continuing into Pembrokeshire, which is where the coastline gets seriously dramatic with huge towering cliffs.
And the numbers:
ilanarama – 75 miles (119 km), 2½ active hours
liv – 19 km (12 miles), 16 active hours
meri_oddities – 42 miles (67 km), 3 active hours
ridicully – 17 km (11 miles), 20 active hours
semielliptical – 64 miles (102 km), 4 active hours
blnchflr – 33 km (20 miles)
temve – 42 miles (66 km), 11½ active hours
linaelyn (supernumerary) – 39 miles (62 km), 5 active hours
Together, we've completed 40% of our goal, and that's without any mileage reported by
