Okay, the Big Bunny Fun Run is looming in my future. 5K, Easter Saturday, April 3rd.

I've had a few weeks of bad allergies making my asthma flare up, so even though my muscles are still in decent shape, I have NO WIND. I'm taking it slow and trying to make daily progress on my cardiovascular health.

Today I managed 3K in 1 minute run/ 1 minute walk intervals. It was reasonably easy for me.

I was accompanied by my 12 year old daughter - never much of a sportsgirl - who found the 3K challenging at this speed. I'm going to see if we can't both be ready to make it through the whole 5K in 4/1 intervals, on Race Day. This will be her first race.

Is anyone else running with their kid(s)? Or other running partner? How does it affect your running?

I've been taking a friend's kids running - we started with a local fun run series with a 1.6k lap for children, and they (a 7 and an 8 year old) loved it, not least because all the finishers got a chocolate bar! Both of them tend to take off too fast and then run out of puff, so I jog along steadily and keep them in sight, secure in the knowledge that they'll be stopping soon.

I usually run with a group, and it's great for motivation, but I can only make 3 sessions at the most each week - and I'm now finding it really hard to make myself go out alone! Possibly this is also because my mp3 player is still somewhere in a box from my last move. Finding it might at least get me out the door... :)
