WE DID IT!!!
I really didn't think we would make it! But we did it!!
So, after our little visit with Mr. Flame-of-Udûn, we spent the last week of this month flying like Gandalf told us to. We managed to make up a good bit of the distances/active hours that had fallen behind (most definitely due to very good, reasonable reasons, if I may add that!) and ended up quickly getting met by our elven escort service (um, *eyebrow* ) on the outskirts of the lands of Lothlorien. Hey, at least they were easy on the eyes, even if they did think it was a marvelous idea to do some kind of weird "trust" exercise that had us jogging blindfolded. Not really my idea of fun, but at least the flets were nicer accommodations than we experienced in Moria, right?
So, we made our way to a really nice elven city with a really pretty elven queen. I'm pretty sure that fabulous hair is a wig, but whatever. At least the beds were mossily pleasant and comfy, and the bathing facilities were top notch. The Mirror of Galadriel didn't seem to work quite right, though. I really couldn't tell if my part was straight or if my ponytail was crooked. But the Mets are going to lose the series again, that much was clear. Anyway, after a good rest in the heart of Elvendom, we headed out in our boats down the Anduin river. We had plenty of active-hours time to burn up here, and we made excellent progress, if I do say so myself. That orc attack wasn't so fun, but we managed to prevail and win through to the Argonath, the Falls of Rauros, and on beyond to the far side of the lake and the frowning cliffs of Tol Brandir.
