core stuff

I posted my core routine over in my journal. There are links to videos showing the exercises, and to more resources for good core strengthening exercises for runners. I'd especially like to encourage those of you with ITB, hip flexor, and piriformis (butt muscle) issues to check out the Myrtl exercises which stretch and strengthen these critical areas.

Thank you!

It's very different from my usual core routine (on my blog here) which I used to do religiously twice a week and have been an utter slacker about this year so far, but I'll give yours a try as I'm running more (mine is a bit more triathlon-general focused) these days and have had issues with both ITB and my hip flexors in the past.

Thanks, that's helpful!

My current core routine is 10 minutes of planks and boat poses added to yoga once a week. Baby steps! But I have realized that I need more variety if I'm going to do more, so I will take a look at some of these options.

I keep meaning to get back to this post and say THANK YOU! I've been doing a low-key version of your routine, just to check it out, and WOW these re muscles I need to work on some more, clearly. Much appreciated!
