Which means that we've taken a break in New Orleans (and got a lift a little down the road...). Currently we're in Marianna, Florida which has the somewhat optimistic nickname of 'the City of Southern Charm' and is close to the Florida Caverns State Park. We won't be visiting, as the caverns are currently flooded.
This week's bonus soundtrack, take your pick of Marianna, by Johnny Mathis or So Long Marianne, by Leonard Cohen. Please, someone let me know a more cheerful song!
Also, welcome to
liv, who joins us as a supernumerary this month - target 25 miles, currently at 10 miles - 42%

wringing out a washcloth on the ISS.
important safety procedure, no, really.

12 more miles running, for a total of 40 this month.
4 additional hours of other workout (biking around for all my grocery & banking errands-- a separate goal for Earth Day!) for a total of 14 hours this month.

(In other news, I've beed experimenting a lot with strawberry rhubarb pies lately. And how to decoratively design the top crust. I have hit upon the best idea for the next one. I shall be making the Pie of Sauron!) I thought you might appreciate that! Also, next month, we should totally run through middle earth!

You and I need to stop sharing a brain (or you need to stop snagging the NSA's data on me, one of the two!). I have been seekritly researching how we could make a run from The Shire to Mordor on Google Maps... but it was SUPPOSED to be a surprise! Also, as I read this comment, I am NOMMING the rhubarb cobbler I made last night, because I have been experimenting with all the rhubarb recipes lately.

(I am sorry for inadvertently spoiling the surprise, but I am UNREASONABLY EXCITED about running in Middle Earth, so much so that I am considering weapons and costumes that I could actually run with. And resurrecting my lembas recipe and playing around with it some more...hmmm...rhubarb lembas?)

Plus 3.5h of hiking in the 'other activity' column.
There's still a week to go, But I somehow doubt it'll make this a salvageable month.
Oh well, I'll do better next month...

As of yesterday (haven't run yet today) I am up to 111 miles and 2 hours of core work. Also, I ran a 10-mile race on Saturday, and here is my race report.

However, I did log 6.75 active hours this month! With some of those being 4 mi of walking (which is as close to running as I've come whilst recovering from kidney stone stuff).

As of today I've done 18/25 miles so just over 70% of my April target. I hope I can actually complete this month; I'm going to have to be pretty disciplined.
Will start counting active hours properly as of next month, I hope.
