February challenge - week 3

Today is the 21st of the 28 days of February, which means we are three-quarters finished with the month, and the month's challenge. How many miles have you run?

As of today, before the weekend runs, I am at 103 miles. And poor [personal profile] ell is down with something icky so we'll see whether those weekend runs happen on the trails or, um, in the bathroom.

Thank you! I think she's over the worst (thankfully these things are awful but short-lived)... but running the long run alone today was definitely a sad and strange experience.

I'm having a hard time believing how much I've been running this month, but the spreadsheet says it's been 103 (or 113 with today's run), and I've definitely worn out my older pair of running shoes. Into the bin, foot-hurters!

Only 12 additional miles this week, for a grand total of 41 miles. I really thought my health would be better, but... it turns out that the week following one's radiation treatment for cancer, one continues to "cook," so to speak. So this week, the running was more like run a little, walk a little, run a little... but I'm counting it as miles, because fuckitalltogorramhell, I am cancer-free and DONE with this. And I am a runner who persevered and *ran* to radiation therapy (when it worked with the kids' schedule, on tues/thurs).

Haha. I've been doing these little micro runs at work. 2-3 miles fast -- or what passes for fast for me. I plan to up the speed until I can get 4-5 miles in during the 40 or so minutes I have.

9 miles this week, 12.5 total, since I haven't got today's run in yet. I'm expecting 15 more by Friday, but I won't be checking in on time, since I'll be on a ship in the Caribbean next weekend, yay yay yay yay!!!!

Yeah, I will--I'll be running on the ship, but not till Saturday, which is March. February really screws up my sense of time.

12.5 more, 33 for the month so far. Today I ran on mostly clear pavement! Just a few short stretches where I had to slow down and tiptoe over or around ice.

105 total so far for me. I'm going to end up 10 short of my goal :-( i really thought i could run a bit today since i'm no longer vomiting, but then Temve reminded me that i haven't managed to actually eat in a day and a half and that's probably not a great plan. On the other hand, it's going to be a bit easier to get to racing weight...
