[personal profile] blnchflr - 31.2/55 km = 57%
[personal profile] ridicully - 30/75 km = 40%

242.8 miles total

So we've left Anchorage and passed the checkpoints at Campbell Airstrip, Willow, Yentna Station, Skwentna, Finger Lake, Rainy Pass, and Rohn (188 miles from Anchorage), and are 20 miles short of the Nikolai checkpoint which is 263 miles from Anchorage. We've just crossed Sullivan Creek, which is rather deep and usually not iced over - fortunately there's a bridge!

We've gone through the city streets of the largest city in Alaska, including along a 5-lane road, ick. But we've also gone through what are considered some of the toughest stretches of the route. Here's a video of the rugged section after the Finger Lake checkpoint from the 2008 documentary. Then, between Rainy Pass and Rohn there's a steep 200-food descent into the Dalzell Gorge, marked by a sign that says "Watch Your Ass". Here's a video of this gorge and the trail beyond toward Nikolai - I hope none of us wiped out as much as those dogsleds!

Here we are on the official map:

Can we make it to Ruby next week?

This is fantastic and encouraging. Thank you for putting it together!

(It totally makes me want to run further, too.)

Look at us go! (A little bit behind schedule, but that sounds realistic in the Iditarod.)

Counting current mileage as 8 days into February, we ought to have done 28.6%, but have only done 27.9% (nuuumbers).

It's that darn 18.75 km run. I really want to do another long run next Sunday, because it was such an achievement, but I probably shouldn't (ankle) D:

Speaking of numbers, you never sent me your raw data so I could try and correlate - mileage and weight, was it? Mileage and something else?
