After three days off, I got off my butt and ran three miles yesterday. It was fun!

I did a 5K Saturday night and it was so much fun! It was the first time I'd done a race at night (and it was actually a little scary because I had to run without my glasses and couldn't see very well) and it was very festive, and it was also the first time I'd really managed the thing they say to do, where you start out at the back and then pass people. I kept passing people until the end and it felt really good! I was probably still pretty far toward the back of the pack but I couldn't tell because I couldn't see very well! :D They haven't posted the results yet so I don't know what time I got, but I was really happy with how good I felt even at the end, after not doing much running at all over the summer.

I am going to try to do a 10K in early December!

This was a neat thing where they gave us armbands with flashing lights and a lot of people were wearing glowsticks or glow-in-the-dark clothing, and they also had police blocking off traffic, so it wasn't seriously dangerous, there were just some little gaps on the pavement and such that I could've tripped on.

I used to run without my glasses all the time but it was mostly very familiar terrain and during the day. But I broke my glasses last week, snapped them right in half at the bridge. I've ordered new ones (gah, money) and am keeping the old ones together with superglue in the meantime, but they don't stay on very well and I'm worried about them being more fragile, so I left them at home Saturday night.

I almost forgot to pick up my t-shirt at the end because I could not see the t-shirt table! :D

Oh hey the results just went up! I finished in just under 31 minutes and about a third of the way through the pack (there were a lot of people walking). Yay! That is about the same time as the one I did in June. Next one will be better!

Good luck on the 16th! By the way, I saw your recent post about how many miles you ran in September, and I was super impressed. Congrats!

I am...running! Ish! I've started over at square one and I'm dropping my half marathon in November for the sake of my sanity. I've signed up for one in March, so that's going to be my big running goal for the fall/winter training block. Well, that and get my run fitness back up to where it was pre-foot.

Ran a 7,5K race yesterday, ran the whole way, and improved my time, yay. I started out slow on purpose, as the first time I ran this race, runner's trots and I almost got too acquainted. Consequently, I had lots of stamina for the last part of the race, and could probably have run faster. But I had a very good race experience compared to last time, so it's all good :o)

This weekend I'm scheduled to run my longest race yet, 13,3K - I don't expect to be able to run the whole way, but that's ok, too.

I ran a race yesterday, too, where I started out slow, and kept going slow for the first half of the race - but even so, I overtook people right up to the finishing line; great feeling :o)

Calf strain is healed :-) Garmin went belly up today and apparently ran a *bit* faster than usual without the watch to slow me down. Reset the watch after reading the help forums and it's working now :-) I'm pretty sure that it died after running in a monsoon the other day. But that was a really fun run, splashing through puddles and being totally wet, but not too cold! I still can't believe that the leg is fine again. One more long run to go then taper time :-)

Missed the race I'd planned on participating in this past Saturday due to family things, but ran the same distance on Sunday at the pace I'd been hoping to set for myself, so there's that. :)

I'm just pleased that I've managed to stick with this for 3ish months so far -- I'm having a lot of fun!

There are a fair amount of oddly-distanced races in Denmark - I imagine it's just laziness: "These paths make a 11.2K loop - the race is 11.2K, end of story" :o)
