Weekly check in

Happy Monday DW Runners!

How was your week? Any race reports?

Tri training is still in full swing around here and [personal profile] temve made a lovely post hereat [community profile] tri_me about how our apartment has changed in character since the crazy-training has ramped up.

So what's changed about your lifestyle since you became a runner?

Have fun, stay hydrated, and run happy!

Feeling like a runner-in-spe this week, because of having to stop and walk before I was supposed to on runs both Sunday and Tuesday.

Am hoping I can make myself participate in the local low-key 5K on Saturday morning (would be my first of the season), and maybe get closer to those magic 30 mins than ever. But it's going to rain, and I have a birthday to get ready for and travel to, so I'm not optimistic :o)

Exercising in general has made me happier/less miserable. And much less prone to colds, and much less sick when I do get them - I'm so amazed by this!

I only started running 5-6 years ago (and has had long periods in that time where I didn't run and had to start from scratch), and lived quite the sedentary life before that. I've gotten fewer colds over those 5-6 years, but especially this last year, where I've exercised more than ever.

I did run Saturday, and ran the 5K in 30:17, which is my fastest time yet. And still I'm disappointed, because everyone else, it seems, runs 5K in under 25 mins - or 20 mins.

Of course, considering that I'm still having trouble making myself go out and run more than once a week, it's really no surprise I make such slow progress :o)

This is you breaking the 10 minute mile barrier :-)
But I'm Danish, I'm trying to break the 6 minute kilometer! Maybe next race - I only have to shave off 17 secs, how hard can it be…
