So what's changed about your lifestyle since you became a runner?
Laundry every Sunday like clockwork, instead of laundry every week and a half-ish, because I have two favorite shirts for running, and they tend to stink after a couple days.
On a different note, I feel more physically capable (no longer get annoyed at having to walk uphill to the bus stop), more alert, and generally happier and perkier throughout the day after running. Yay!

(But the way to get more shirts is to enter more races :-)
My advice to you is to start with Hal Higdon and one of his training plans: http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/ - He got me through my first (and only so far) marathon. Also, if you can, find some folks to run with once a week or so - local running stores and clubs almost always have a few runs every week and one should fit your needs.
Good luck and happy running!
