Regarding two recuperation days, I find there's a huge difference in my performance after two days of rest. I was wary the first time, too, but it really made a positive difference. Go for it!

I agree with [personal profile] littledrop, I'm doing much better with two or even three days between runs.

I know *exactly* what you mean, because that's kind of my personality too. A couple of times through the years I've pushed myself too hard and it's resulted in pain and stress on my body that really derailed my training plans. . .I'm *really* trying not to push myself too hard anymore.
