Weekly check-in

"In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that."
-Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder

What did you accomplish this week? What was your favorite running experience?

What are your goals for next week?

That's an oddly appropriate quote for me this week. I didn't do much running last week because I was tapering for my race, which I did on Sunday. My first triathlon! I was waaaaaaaaay back of the pack, but I finished and there really is a lot of satisfaction in that. I'm spending the week recovering (plus I think I'm getting a cold) and laying out my training plans for my next A race in September. My real weak spot is my running, so I expect a LOT of training focus on that.

Congrats! I decided to skip this one (job got in the way) and put all my energy to Nations. Are you doing that one too?

Also, race report? I really want to hear all about it.

(am considering starting a tri comm around here, what do you think?)

Thank you! I am doing Nations, though now that I've done one I'm a little nervous about doubling the distance.

I think a tri comm would be awesome! One of the things that surprises me about triathlon is how many seekrit triathletes there seems to be.

Also, omg, your icon! ♥

Congratulations!! I did a teeny triathlon some years ago and discovered that I really, really cannot swim (or at least not in open sea when surrounded by dozens of other people), so I am in awe of those who find it easier than running!

Thank you! There are tons of triathletes who also find swimming to be the most difficult leg, so you'd be in good company if you ever try it again! The good thing about that is that they do a lot of extra little bits to cater to folks who find swimming hard, more so than in the other sports.
