Weekly Check-in :-)

Inspiring quote for today:

"I always loved running...it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs."

-Jesse Owens

So, runners, how was your week? What was your favorite sight while running this week?

My week was not bad, considering it was Week of Menstrual Issues (which can be rather hellish, for me.) I had difficulty breathing (pollen issues, anemia, asthma) but my legs felt good. I managed three runs of 4.5~5K each.

Best thing I saw:
It's both migration season and breeding season here for so many birds. This Western Tanager was probably headed for British Columbia or Idaho for the nesting season, but he was singing up a storm in the top of a Cypress tree. Beautiful, both visually and aurally.

Eee! I have seen a few Western Tanagers around here (SW Colorado) myself lately - they are so pretty!
