Day 3 of this thing that I haven't explicitly called an Advent Calendar

...and I'm almost even on time. I'm out of energy today (3 different aikido workouts, one of which I taught!!!(still excited about that) plus 2 hours of German class and I'm fried and eating lactose-free, gluten-free Christmas cookies like they're going out of style), so all you get is a link to Fellrnr's marathon training plan comparison. Just what anyone considering a spring marathon would need to help them get started. Incidentally, if you are planning a spring marathon, now is the time to start base mile building. Are you? Which one?

Here is the link to the comparison of the many different marathon plans out there

(also, the name fellrnr (Fell runner) always makes me think of Firefrorefiddle the Fiend of the Fells, so have a bonus video)

I'm doing a half in Edinburgh in May! And, yes, it's time to get running regularly again--this winter has been a disaster so far. (The fact that it's been winter for a good month already has a lot to do with the lack of running. Grrr.)

I've just started jogging again, after a year and three months out (but who's counting?) due to plantar fasciitis. Been on three short jogs so far and nothing is twinging!

Heh, Fellrnr used to post on the running forum where I hang out. He's a little strange, but really serious about his attempts to quantify things and determine optimum training.

I am planning a spring marathon, yes, a certain run on Patriot's Day in Massachusetts :-) which is why I'm rather unhappy about having run a total of 14 miles in November and zero so far this December. Really hoping this physical therapy stuff does the job pronto.

Speaking of programs, I write my own (in a Daniels sort of way, in that I specify key workouts and fill in the rest as I go along) and I will do this for people I know who are trying to improve or break through a plateau. Anyone in this community is welcome to send me a message and I will be happy to work with them!
