The Highlands of Scotland
We made some decent progress on our journey, covering some 281 miles of distance, counting our active hours. We started off at the northwestern-most town on the Scottish mainland, at Faraid Head.
Starting point:
Do not let the sunshine fool you. Even in May, the weather is decidedly Novemberish.
Google Street View of a part of our journey, fairly typical of this terrain.
As we made our way through rain, sleet, and other typical Highlander weathers, we met some fluffy locals, but we were defended from their menace by Ridicully's archery and Ell's aikido skills. Thanks!
Sheeps!

We faced some daunting aquatic crossings, but Franzi's rowing meters got us through those hazards quite handily.
River crossing!

There was a significant amount of up & down on this route, some of it even looking more like climbing than running, which makes some of us very happy. :-)

Finally we reached our waypoint at Invergarry:

All in all, we've made a decent start and we are on our way to succeeding in our quest to ramble over much of Great Britain! Congratulations, everyone!
(ETA: So many of us are struggling with our goals not matching up with our health, that I thought it might be de-motivating to post percentages of our distances. If y'all want me to post them, I will, but I thought I'd wait until next week and show how we are improving...)
