Doing your first 10K in a little over an hour is reasonable, especially given how you've already been running for a while. I did pretty much exactly what you did (except much less methodically), and my first 10K clocked in at 1:04.
So I think you've got a fine plan there, and one that leaves enough time for strength work and trifling things like weddings and honeymoon :)
