Current (immediate) goals?

I thought it was time for another post!

Yesterday I ran a 10k, instead of the ½-marathon I hadn't gotten in shape for. I'm not sure what my time was, as my chip either malfunctioned or was not my chip. If a team-mate's chip was functioning correctly, though, my time was under 1:07:00, which is my best time yet, so yay. Also it was my first race in pouring rain, which was fun, at least after the fact :oD

My current immediate goal is to give my knee a few days' rest, then work towards running 5.5k in 35 mins.

Another goal is to find someone to drive me to participate in a 10k race in hilly country August 29th. Since I'm used to running in very, very flat country, it'll probably be killer, but hopefully fun and w/ pretty scenery.

What about you?

Aw, bummer about the chip timing not working out. I wonder if that was due to the rain. Congrats on making your best time yet!

What did you wear in the rain? I have never raced in the rain other than a bit of passing drizzle.

My next goal is to run the Imogene Pass Run (a 17-mile mountain race which I did last year) in under 4 hours. My fallback goal is to beat my previous time of 4:11, my pixie-dust goal is 3:45.

Yay! Congrats on a good race (even if it was in the rain)!

My immediate goal is to return to running 3 days a week. I've been slacking since July and only managing to drag myself out into the heat about once a week. This means I'm nowhere close to my goal of being able to run a 10k at the end of October. Bah.

Congratulations on your run!

I did a 10k on the weekend as well - it was a hill run with a very steep bit in the middle where the course went straight up the hill rather than just circling around it in an undulating fashion. Naturally this was the point when it started raining, although at least it stopped again after five minutes or so. I had one horrible 5k in driving rain where I'd worn long, loose running trouser things, and they got so heavy with water that they kept falling down!

Immediate plans - another 10k in a month, hopefully a little bit faster than my last one.
