Hi everyone,

I have to ask the question: how do you feel about running shirtless (both male and female)? I live in an area that is extremely humid and there are times when I'm sorely tempted to tear off my shirt and run in my sports bra. Yet, I always chicken out in the end. I mostly run in my neighborhood, which isn't very large and is pretty private. Still, I'm a total chicken! I am never bothered by other shirtless runners. Whatever their body type, skin pigment, body hair, etc. -- just lob on that sunblock and boast that healthy awesomeness! I just cannot get the image of a Baywatch babe out of my head when I'm trucking down the street with my supposed "sweat wicking" shirt practically glued to my torso.

What are your thoughts/experiences?

I have a chronic health problem (at least one, anyway) and very variable energy. I miss running a whole lot, but it's hard to get started again. I know there's that "couch to 5k" thing, and I'm still considering it, but the jogging and walking just don't seem like much fun - though I guess the point is that it gets you up to being able to run a decent amount relatively simply and easily.

Does anyone have suggestions about how to run more or less regularly despite unreliable energy levels? Does anyone know of methods besides the "couch to 5k" thing, for easing oneself gently back into running? Recommendations of books and websites are appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)
