New Year, New Challenge!

I'm going to try to run a January challenge. If you'd like to participate, please post your distance goal and/or active hours goal in the comments!

New participants are welcome!
 The distance goal can be in miles or kilometers, but I'll assume miles if you don't specify. Active hours can be a particular type of activity (usually biking for me), or total amount of activity (swimming, martial arts, hiking, whatever).

I just signed up for my first marathon so my goal will be to get my kilometerage up to about 60 to 65K by the last week of January. That's the week that my weekly marathon clinic at The Running Room will begin.

If anyone has any advice for a first-time marathoner, particularly on what to eat during the days leading up to the race and fueling during the race, I would be very thankful for any suggestions offered. I have run 3 half marathons so far with mostly water and some Gatorade.
