Thank you for this awesome, useful post! I've been gradually increasing mpw for months but have done it mostly by stretching out my Sunday run because that's the one day when I've had time to go somewhere nice and enjoy myself. Had totally forgotten about the advice not to let one run be more than a third of the total. I'm hopeful that it'll be easier to move to five days a week and spreading out the mileage more now that the semester is ending.
It's also reassuring to read that we should stick to an easier pace most of the time. I've tried pushing on speed a little bit recently, but my goodness it tires me out quickly. It's good to know I can keep that to one or two runs per week.
